MORE ON THE A19 RESURFACING SCHEME – A689 WOLVISTON INTERCHANGE

Due to the weekend closure of 22/23 October during the northbound phase of works being cancelled due to material delivery issues, a further full weekend closure of the northbound carriageway through the junction is required from 20:00hrs Friday 4 November to 06:00hrs Monday 7 November.

The remaining programme of works is as follows:-

A19 Northbound (A689 Wolviston Interchange, diversion via A689 and A179 through Hartlepool), 2000 – 0600 each night:

  • Monday 31 October – Thursday 3 November 2022; and
  • Monday 7 November – Friday 11 November 2022;

A19 Northbound (at A689 Wolviston Interchange only), full weekend:

  • 2000, Friday 4 November – 0600, Monday 7 November 2022.

In addition a further two overnight closures of the southbound carriageway in the vicinity of Wolviston interchange are required as follows:

A19 Southbound (at southbound exit slip to A689/A1185 Wolviston Roundabout, diversion via A689 Coal Lane to re-join A19 southbound at Wolviston interchange), 2000-0600 each night:

  • Wednesday 2 November and Thursday 3 November 2022.

The programme is weather dependant, National Highways have indicated that tonight’s planned surfacing works are cancelled due to the weather forecast though the closure will proceed as planned to enable other activities to be undertaken safely, and Wednesday’s forecast is high winds, which may lead to Thursday / Friday overnight closures of A19 southbound, rather than Wednesday / Thursday, as these works are to install a large advance direction sign.
